GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Jason Gutierrez isn't your typical three-year-old boy.
In 2012, he was diagnosed with a rare heart defect that’s had him battling for his life ever since.
Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome has had little Jason in and out of open heart surgeries for the past few years, but last night he took a break from the chaos of hospital visits and treatments.
Jason and his family celebrated their upcoming trip to Disney World sponsored by the Make A Wish Foundation.
“Honestly, it's a blessing all at the same time, you get to see miracles everyday where other people live their whole life and never see one, and we see one every day,” says his mother, Mary Kincaid.
After exhausting all the medical resources in the state, Jason and his family head to Stanford, California for his fifth open heart surgery in January.
Despite all the hardships he's endured, his parents say he's one of the brightest and happiest toddlers around and they can't wait to be with their son at Disney World.
