FRUITA, Colo. One Mesa county hospital looks to change the face of women's healthcare and last night, they celebrated the opening of brand new radiology wing.
The Fruita Chamber of Commerce invited the community to take part in special ribbon cutting ceremony to ring in this new chapter for Family Health West.
The newly assembled women's healthcare team spoke about their plans to tackle some of the most common diseases affecting women through early detection and diagnosis.
The equipment that you will find in the radiology wing includes the only 3-D mammography in the Grand Valley along with some of the most advanced MRI and osteoporosis machines.
“We've just been growing leaps and bounds and so to be able to provide this kind of technology in Fruita, Colorado, we're very proud and very excited that we can do this,” says Angelina Salazar of Family Health West.
In just two short months, Family Health West has performed nearly 200 3-D mammograms for women right here on the Western Slope.
Wednesday night marked the fifth anniversary of the hospital and officials say all the progress they've made thus far gives them hope for a bright future in women's healthcare.
