GRAND JUNCTION,Colo. The Junior College Baseball World Series brings in over 100,000 fans, players, and family members to Grand Junction from all around the country.

This year’s series is the 57th time Grand Junction has played host, and it starts on May 24th, memorial weekend.

Local hotels are preparing to host the 10 teams from around the country.

“We like to support our community and we like to support the players and the teams and JUCO, we like to support JUCO as a whole because of what they do for our community so we're pretty excited," said Mandy Freese Manager of the Double Tree Hotel in Grand Junction.

The economy in Mesa County has been struggling to bounce back, and the sponsorship of the event is reflecting that as well.

"This year has been more of a struggle as far as our sponsors and it has everything to do with the economy," said Jamie Hamilton, chairman of the GJ Baseball Committee, but the committee is still expecting a packed stadium.

After the $8-million dollar expansion of Suplizio field and the addition of the hospitality tower, Grand Junction has secured the right to host JUCO for the next 25 years.
