As Hollywood's finest gather this weekend for the Oscars, check out these 10 things to watch for during the awards show.
The movie awards season comes to an end Sunday with the Oscars. Before the ceremony begins, take a look at 10 things to watch for Sunday night.
Will Affleck win Best Picture? After winning most major awards for Best Director this season, Ben Affleck wasn’t even nominated by the Academy. Will Affleck instead walk away with the ultimate prize, Best Picture, for “Argo”? Or will it instead be “Lincoln” or “Silver Linings Playbook”?
Who will win Best Director? With Affleck – the winner of most of the major Best Director awards heading into the Oscars – not nominated in the category, Best Director seems to be an open race. Veteran Steven Spielberg or Ang Lee could take home the Oscar.
Will the “Silver Linings Playbook” cast sweep the Oscars? The core of the “Silver Linings Playbook” cast is nominated for Oscars with Jennifer Lawrence up for Best Actress, Bradley Cooper up for Best Actor, Robert De Niro for Supporting Actor and Jacki Weaver for Supporting Actress. Can all four “Silver Linings Playbook” actors go home with an Oscar?
Will age records be set? If Emmanuelle Riva pulls an upset and wins for Best Actress, she will become the oldest actor to ever win an Oscar. Also, if youngster Quvenzhane Wallis wins in the same category, she will be the youngest to ever take home an Oscar.
Who will rule the Red Carpet? Which actor or actress will wow fans and critics on the Red Carpet? And who will commit a fashion no-no?
Will Adele add an Oscar to her awards collection? Singer Adele is nominated for Original Song for “Skyfall” from “Skyfall.”
Which Hollywood A-listers will attend Oscars? Will Brad and Angelina attend the Oscars? Will Jack Nicholson be in the audience? It is a safe bet that George Clooney will be in attendance as he is a producer of Best Picture-nominee “Argo.”
Will Ryan Seacrest get pranked on the Red Carpet again? Last year Sacha Baron Cohen spilled ashes all over Seacrest. Will anyone dare to prank him this year?
Will Quentin Tarantino get his second Oscar? Quentin Tarantino -- who, like Affleck, was also left out of the Best Director category -- is nominated for Best Original Screenplay for “Django Unchained.” He is expected to face tough competition from “Zero Dark Thirty” writer Mark Boal.
How will host Seth MacFarlane do? Seth MacFarlane is hosting the Oscars for the first time. Will he win over the crowd and critics? He won over some critics earlier this awards season with his wittiness during the Oscar nominations broadcast.
