MacFarlane was born in Kent, Conn., on Oct. 26, 1973.
He attended Rhode Island School of Design, where he studied animation.
After college he worked at Hanna-Barbera Productions as a writer and animator of “Johnny Bravo” and “Cow and Chicken.”
In his early career he also worked for Walt Disney Animation on the series “Jungle Cubs” in 1996.
MacFarlane’s biggest professional break might have come when FOX hired him to create “Family Guy” in 1999.
In addition to creating “Family Guy,” MacFarlane is also the voice of Peter Griffin, Brian Griffin and Stewie Griffin.
In 2005, MacFarlane created “American Dad!”
In this animated series, MacFarlane also provides the voice for Stan Smith.
In 2009, MacFarlane helped create “The Cleveland Show.” In this series he plays the voice of Tim The Bear.
In 2012 MacFarlane hit the big screen with “Ted,” a movie about a grown man and his very much alive teddy bear.
MacFarlane wrote and directed the movie while also playing the voice of Ted.
