The category for Best Director left several top directors out in the cold. Ben Affleck did not get a nomination for Best Director, even through "Argo" was nominated for Best Picture.
Kathryn Bigelow and Tom Hooper were also left out of the Best Director category. Bigelow was expected to get a nomination for "Zero Dark Thirty" and Hooper was thought to get a nod for "Les Miserables."
Quentin Tarantino was also denied a Best Director nomination for "Django Unchained."
The Best Supporting Actor left many of Hollywood's finest on the outside looking in. Matthew McConaughey was denied a nomination for his role in "Magic Mike."
Leonardo DiCaprio was also not recognized for his role in "Django Unchained."
