If you're a fan of 1980s movies, you're a likely a fan of the Brat Pack. Let's take a look at where the Brat Packers are today. The term generally refers to the cast of two 1985 films, "The Breakfast Club" and ...
... "St. Elmo's Fire." But the members of the Brat Pack vary depending on who you ask. However, the core members were ...
Emilio Estevez, shown here in "St. Elmo's Fire." He also starred in "The Breakfast Club," along with ...
... Molly Ringwald ...
... Anthony Michael Hall ...
... Judd Nelson ...
... and Ally Sheedy. Nelson and Sheedy join Estevez as the Brat Pack members to appear in both "The Breakfast Club" and "St. Elmo's Fire."
Estevez, now 50, went on to star in such films as "Young Guns," "Stakeout," and the "Mighty Ducks" franchise. Estevez has also turned to writing, directing and producing movies, including the 2006 Robert Kennedy movie "Bobby" and the 2011 drama "The Way" starring his father, Martin Sheen.
Ringwald, now 44, was an '80s fixture, also appearing in "Sixteen Candles," "Pretty in Pink" and "The Pick-Up Artist." Over the past decade she's mostly found work in TV, including a regular role on "The Secret Life of the American Teenager."
Hall, now 44, was also an '80s movie fixture, adding "National Lampoon's Vacation," "Sixteen Candles" and "Weird Science" to his resume. While other Brat Packers saw their careers fizzle, he starred in the USA Network series "The Dead Zone," from 2002 through 2007. He also played a talk show host in "The Dark Knight" and has had recent cameos in shows such as "Warehouse 13," "Community" and "No Ordinary Family."
Nelson, now 53, failed to see his career take off following his iconic "Breakfast Club" role. Apart from a role in the TV series "Suddenly Susan," he's mostly appeared in indie movies and in bit parts on TV.
Sheedy, now 50, followed up "Breakfast Club" and "St. Elmo's Fire," with 1986's "Short Circuit." Into the 1990s, she found work mostly in TV movies and on stage. Her most recent high-profile work includes recurring roles on "Kyle XY" and "Psych" and the 2011 indie comedy "Fugly," co-starring John Leguizamo and Rosie Perez.
Rob Lowe, seen here in "St. Elmo's Fire," is also considered a core member of the Brat Pack.
Lowe, now 48, saw his career hit a rough patch for most of the 1990s, but staged a comeback with "The West Wing." He followed that up with a starring role in the TV series "Brothers & Sisters" and now is a regular on the sitcom "Parks and Recreation."
Andrew McCarthy, who also starred in "St. Elmo's Fire" as well as other '80s films like "Pretty in Pink," "Less Than Zero" and "Weekend at Bernie's," is also a core Brat Pack member.
Now 50, McCarthy saw his career drop off in the 1990s, finding work in mostly TV movies and on stage. He's had recent guest roles in shows like "Royal Pains" and "White Collar" and has recently directed several episodes of "Gossip Girl."
Demi Moore, seen here in "St. Elmo's Fire," rounds up the core members of the the Brat Pack. She followed that role up with the iconic '80s movies "About Last Night" and "One Crazy Summer."
Moore, now 50, saw her career take off with 1990's "Ghost." She went on to become one of Hollywood's biggest stars in the '90s, including roles in "A Few Good Men," "Disclosure," "Indecent Proposal" and "G.I. Jane."
The term Brat Pack was originally coined in a New York magazine article that referenced the 1983 movie "The Outsiders," which starred Estevez, Lowe, C. Thomas Howell, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Patrick Swayze and Tom Cruise.
Because of that, several of the movie's cast have occasionally been considered Brat Pack members, including Cruise ...
... Matt Dillon ...
... Ralph Macchio ...
and C. Thomas Howell.
James Spader, who appeared with fellow Brat Packer Molly Ringwald in "Pretty in Pink," is also sometimes considered a member of the group.
Among the now-52-year-old Spader's recent roles include the 2002 movie "Secretary" and Steven Spielberg's biopic "Lincoln" as well as the TV series "The Practice" and "Boston Legal." He's also spent a season in 2011-12 playing the enigmatic Robert California on the sitcom "The Office."
Robert Downey Jr., who co-starred with Spader and McCarthy in "Less Than Zero," and also worked with Anthony Michael Hall in "Weird Science" and "Johnny Be Good," also is sometimes considered a Brat Packer.
After substance abuse issues derailed his career, Downey, now 47, has made a big comeback, starring in the "Iron Man" movie franchise and also finding box office success with such movies as "Tropic Thunder," two "Sherlock Holmes" movies and "Marvel's The Avengers."
Depending on which list you read, a variety of other actors have also been linked to the Brat Pack at time, including such 1980s acting icons as John Cusack ("Say Anything," "Better Off Dead" and "Sixteen Candles") ...
... Jon Cryer ("Pretty in Pink") ...
... Matthew Broderick ("Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "WarGames") ...
... Kevin Bacon ("Diner," "Footloose" and "She's Having a Baby") ...
... Charlie Sheen, more for being Estevez's brother and his partying habits than any particular movie, ...
... Kiefer Sutherland ("The Lost Boys," "Bright Lights, Big City" and "Young Guns") ...
... Sean Penn ("Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "Taps") ...
... Lou Diamond Phillips ("Young Guns" and "La Bamba") ...
... Mary Stuart Masterson ("Some Kind of Wonderful") and ...
... Lea Thompson ("Red Dawn," "Back to the Future," "Some Kind of Wonderful" and "SpaceCamp.")
Although most Brat Packers hated the term, "Little House on the Prairie" star Melissa Gilbert (seen here with husband Bruce Boxleitner in 2010) implied in her autobiography she was a member of the Brat Pack, due to her socializing with Estevez and Lowe, the latter to whom she was once engaged.
