Arsenio returning to late night with new show
Show to launch next year
The one-time king of late night TV, Arsenio Hall, is back in the house.
CBS has confirmed that the network has signed on NBC's most recent "Celebrity Apprentice" winner for a new late night show that will launch next year.
Hall ruled TV from 1989 to 1994 with his Emmy-winning "Arsenio Hall Show," which was produced by Paramount Domestic Television - now known as CBS Television Distribution (CTD).
The production company's betting he'll pull in the ratings once more with the untitled syndicated show that's set to debut in the fall of 2013.
"We're excited to welcome Arsenio back to the family and partnering on his new, late-night syndicated talk show," John Nogawski, president of CTD, said in a statement. "Arsenio had a substantial following with his previous late night show ... he transcended time periods and attracted a crossover audience while bringing a fresh perspective to late night."
Hall, of course, shared the enthusiasm.
"It's an amazing feeling to be going HOME to my old friends and colleagues and firing up our 'Night Thing,'" he said in a statement. "Let's get busy ... AGAIN!"
