Come on, you ready to get happy again? The songs "C'mon, Get Happy" and "I Think I Love You" were among the hits spawned from the musical sitcom "The Partridge Family," which ran on ABC from 1970-1974. What are the show's stars up to today?
David Cassidy played Keith Douglas Partridge, the eldest Partridge child, and became a teen heartthrob in the process.
Following his teen idol days, Cassidy went on to earn an Emmy nomination for his performance on "Police Story" and starred in the short-lived spin-off series "David Cassidy - Man Undercover." His most recent role was in the 2009 ABC Family sitcom "Ruby & the Rockits."
His profile rose again, for the wrong reasons, thanks to a November 2010 DUI arrest in Florida.
Susan Dey played Laurie Partridge.
After "The Partridge Family," Dey appeared in starring roles on such shows as "Emerald Point, N.A.S.," "L.A. Law" and "Love and War." In 2002, she reprised her "L.A. Law" role of D.A. Grace Van Owen for a television movie based on the series, and appeared in two episodes of the television drama "Third Watch" in 2004.
Danny Bonaduce played the precocious Danny Partridge.
Bonaduce has survived career ups and downs as an actor, as well as a morning radio and television personality. He chronicled struggles with drug addiction and rehab, homelessness and arrests in the 2002 autobiography "Random Acts of Badness." As an actor, he played Mr. Partridge in television movie update of "The New Partridge Family" (2005). He also had a recurring role on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," and has appeared in several reality television shows. He is now a morning radio show host for Seattle radio station KZOK-FM.
Shirley Jones (Shirley Partridge) was an established star of movie musicals ("The Music Man," "Carousel," "Oklahoma!") and won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for "Elmer Gantry" before "The Partridge Family." She's recently had cameos in TV series such as "Raising Hope," "Victorious" and "Laid Off." In the years since "The Partridge Family," Jones has starred in the series "Shirley," and has appeared in numerous guest roles on such shows as "Murder, She Wrote," "The Drew Carey Show," "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Sesame Street."
Jeremy Gelbwaks (lower left) played Chris Partridge during the show's first season. However, when the child actor's family moved from Los Angeles after the season, the role was recast.
The role then went to Brian Forster (second from left), who played Chris Partridge through the show's final three seasons.
Forster also appeared on "The Brady Bunch" and "Family Affair" before taking over the role of Chris Partridge. After the series, he became a racecar driver. In 2008, he reprised his Chris Partridge role on the Internet sitcom "Break a Leg."
Suzanne Crough played the youngest Partridge family member, Tracy Partridge, who played tambourine and rarely spoke more than once an episode.
After "The Partridge Family," Crough co-starred in the 1977 series "Mulligan Stew," and played a Leif Garrett groupie on a 1978 "Wonder Woman" episode. Her last acting credit was in the 1980 TV movie "Children of Divorce." Crough owned a bookstore in the 1990s and during a "Partridge Family" reunion on NBC's "The Today Show" in March 2010 stated she is a manager at an Office Max in Arizona.
Veteran comedian Dave Madden played the Partridge Family's acerbic manager, Reuben Kincaid, a perfect comic foil for Bonaduce. He would later make recurring appearances as Earl Hicks on the sitcom "Alice," and launched a lucrative career in commercial voiceovers. His autobiography is entitled "Reuben on Wry."
Gordon Jump, who would go on to fame for "WKRP in Cincinnati," played several roles on "The Partridge Family," including a cop, a father, a minister and Man and Man #2. The actor died in September 2003 at the age of 71.
