2012 has been a big year in celebrity break-up news, with the power couples like Katie Holmes/Tom Cruise, Katy Perry/Russell Brand, Heidi Klum/Seal and Demi Moore/Ashton Kutcher ending their marriages.
Take a look at Forbes' list of the high-paid celebrity couples based on total earnings from May 1, 2011, through May 1, 2012.
#5. Will and Jade Pinkett Smith. Total annual income: $40 million.
Will Smith starred in the box-office smash "Men in Black 3" this year and took in an estimated $30 million. Jada Pinkett Smith starred in "Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted", which grossed over $500 million worldwide and is a spokeswoman for a line of beauty products, making her annual earnings $10 million.
#4. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Total annual income: $45 million.
Pitt earned his third Oscar nomination this year for "Moneyball" and had other cinematic accomplishments in 2011 and 2012, bringing in about $25 million. Jolie also earns millions from big studio flicks, residuals and endorsement deals for companies like Louis Vuitton, earning her about $20 million.
#3. David and Victoria Beckham. Total annual income: $54 million.
David Beckham re-signed with the Los Angeles Galaxy of MLS in January for another two years and has many endorsements. As the world’s highest-paid soccer player, he makes about $46 million a year. Victoria’s clothing ventures are a success, generating over $40 million annually in sales. That plus other sources of income such as royalties from Spice Girls’ hits, puts her annual earnings at $8 million.
#2. Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen. Total annual income: $72 million.
The supermodel Bundchen remains a force within the fashion industry, racking up modeling gigs, endorsement deals and independent licensing ventures that bank her some $45 million a year. Brady signed a four-year, $72 million contract extension with the New England Patriots that runs through 2014 and he also signed modeling gigs. On the field and off it, he made $27 million last year.
#1. Jay-Z and Beyonce. Total annual income: $78 million.
Beyonce's latest album went platinum in the U.S. and her non-musical ventures and endorsement deals brought her total earnings to $40 million. Jay-Z's latest album, and the tour that followed, in addition to his other non-musical ventures, brought in $38 million.
