One stop shop, where Dr. Brooks performs diagnostic ultrasound scans himself, (Registered Vascular Technician- RVT), interprets these diagnostic studies (Registered Physician Vascular Interpreter- RPVI) and generates a report that addresses any issues or findings.
Dr Brooks then sets a treatment plan which may include procedural intervention, regular observation or referral to a close and credentialed colleague in a more urban/larger institution. Never does Dr Brooks feel he is forced to maintain control of a patient's care, for the duty and financial support of an institution. He truly decides the course of a patient's care, based on his expertise and yrs of experience, and refers out, if ever necessary. Dr Brooks is double American Board certified (the only one in GJ) in Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery and General Surgery.
He is a Fellow of American College of Surgeons (FACS) and maintains his credentials by attending symposiums, conventions and classes for CMEs (continuing medical education credits.) He is a member of numerous medical societies, so that he is in "the loop" and abreast of all developments of technique and equipment.
