HS Football: Palisade must try and slow down Evans

Palisade will travel to Palmer Ridge high school to take on the No. 2 Bears on Saturday.

The Bulldogs will attempt to contain Palmer Ridge junior quarterback Ty Evans.

"Our secondary hasn't had a chance to show what we have yet, junior defensive back Jason Bruce says. "I'm ready for it, honestly. Our db's, we can play. We can hang."

Evans is committed to play at Arkansas after high school. He has thrown for 3210 yards and 39 touchdowns this season. He averages 16 yards per completion.

"It's going to take an act of God because we need to get some severe weather or something to disrupt his game," head coach Joe Ramunno says. "He's the real deal. I mean you got a guy that's an SEC quarterback commit. It's pretty special. But it'll be fun for us. It's going to be a great challenge. We'll just have to do the best we can."

Kickoff is set for 1 P.M. from Don Bresse Stadium at Palmer Ridge High School in Monument, Colorado.
