Central and Fruita Monument will hit the football field tomorrow night coming off opposite weeks.
The Warriors are fresh off a bye week while Fruita comes in off a short week.
"They've been practicing to play against us for a lot longer than we've been practicing to play against them," junior defensive end Kaden Jolley says. "They've had two weeks to focus on just us. But I think we've been preparing during the mornings and after school. We've been preparing enough. We know we had a short week. That was the mindset going into this week. We need to use practice time as efficiently as possible."
It was a similar situation last season. Central faced Fruita fter an off week only to fall to the Wildcats, 44-28.
Fruita is making the most of their practice time.
"We have more time in pads and less time to watch film," senior linebacker Ryan Ficken says. "But we made it up after practice. We go into the weight room, watch film, and we get it done."
Kickoff for Central-Fruita is set for 7 P.M. on Thursday night from Stocker Stadium.
