GJ Rockies: Stellar pitching leads Rockies to series opening win

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) In a back and forth game on Saturday night the 6th inning proved to be vital for Grand Junction as they took down Great Falls in the series opener 4-3.

In the 6th inning the Rockies put up three runs on one swing of the bat. UCCS product Zach Hall hit his 4th home run on the season with one out in the inning, that hit would prove to be the difference.

After a rough first inning Alejandro Mejia settled in nicely on the mound for Grand Junction going five innings allowing just two earned runs.

The Rockies will look to keep their winning streak alive on Sunday with game two set for a 5:00 P.M. first pitch.
