Four straight losses have CMU men's basketball hoping for a fresh start in 2018.
The Mavs will take on Chadron St. and Regis in back-to-back road games this weekend.
Chadron St. sits at 1-7 while Regis is 4-3.
The tough part for CMU will be traveling on Nebraska to Denver on consecutive nights.
"We got to make sure we get stretched and stay hydrated and get ready because that's a long ride and we got to get ready to play, said junior guard Brandon Hoffer. "Then we turn around and play in Denver so we just got to stay focused and don't let the travel be an excuse for us."
This is the only times the Mavs play against these two schools. Last season CMU defeated Chadron St. by 45 before falling to Regis by two.
"Any conference play in this league is challenging," said head coach Andy Shantz. "It's just a spread out league. Everyone has got to travel long distances. But hey, look at the bright side. I'd rather go to Chadron first and come home from Denver the second night then play in Denver the first night and have to drive all the way home from Chadron the second night."
Tip off against Chadron St. is set for 7:30 P.M. on Friday and then at 7 P.M. at Regis on Saturday.
