Ryan Vilade has been playing baseball since he was four years old.
Since then he's always wanted to play professionally.
"I just come out here and play everyday," Vilade says. "You strive for success. I've had some good moments this year and I'll just keep it up and keep working hard."
At the halfway point of his first pro season, Vilade is hitting .316 with five home runs and 18 RBI's.
"I'm feeling great! I'm having a good year, having fun, playing with some great guys, great coaches," Vilade says.
Vilade was also selected to the Pioneer League All-Star team.
"It was a great feeling," Vilade says. "It's crazy that the first year I get to experience such an awesome event up in Oregon."
Vilade is also the No. 7 ranked prospect in the Rockies' organization. Colorado has been known to build players through their farm system over the past few years.
"It shows a lot about the organization on developing their players and not giving up on them," Vilade says. "Also they help them to be the best of the best. It's good and I'll continue to work hard. Hopefully we'll have some fun days to come."
