GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The 10TH annual PBS Rocky Mountain Kids Fun Fest was held today in Lincoln Park.
37 different local organizations and nonprofits provided free activities for kids including face painting, slip and slides and meet and greets with Clifford the big red dog and super why.
There was an estimated 2,000 kids and families at the event with performances by local dance teams, robotics, and martial arts demonstrations, all for free.
“So we want to make this stuff available to every family in Mesa County who wants to come out and have a free day of fun,” said development support representative at Rocky Mountain PBS Charlie Blackmer.
Parents say its a great way for their kids to try out dozens of fun kids activities and It's the largest free event for kids aged eight and under in western Colorado .
“It’s nice to get out in the sun and absorb and do what we used to do back in the day before smartphones and meet people. It’s a good time, it’s what we do, said Grand Junction resident Billy McCoy.
