GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) -- Nearly 300 kids at Juniper Ridge performed an Irish jig Thursday afternoon, ahead of St. Patrick's Day on Friday.
For two weeks students have been learning the dance, making it the largest Irish dance in Western Colorado.
The school has made this an annual tradition for the last four years.
"I think it's important to show as many different cultures as we possibly can so students are able to embrace a world population and not just their own nationalities,” said teacher, Angel Martin, who taught the dance.
Following the dance there was a St. Patrick’s Day parade, but it wasn't a typical parade.
Students were able to bring in pets and spend the rest of their afternoon outside with their classmates.
