GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) -- The Salvation Army celebrated the grand opening of a new thrift store Thursday.
After months of planning the new store is open for business.
Dozens of people came out to shop at the new location on North Avenue.
The Salvation Army was looking for a bigger and more accessible place for people to shop.
The store is open Monday through Saturday, and all profits will help benefit one of the Salvation Army's programs.
“The stores help to support and finance our addiction recovery program,” said Major Joe Huttenlocker, with the Salvation Army, "which is a very important program to this community in helping people who have addictions.”
In honor of the opening, the store was having a raffle and giving away $25 gift certificates to people.
They were also offering 50% off to all shoppers.
For those looking to help out, the store will accept donations each day it is open.
