Palisade board rejects appeal on pot shop application

PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The Palisade Board of Trustees on Tuesday night rejected an appeal from someone trying to apply for a recreational marijuana license in the town.

La Patronas applied to be considered in the drawing for the second license, but it was denied. They tried to appeal the rejection, but the town clerk said it had multiple errors.

The town clerk said she rejected it because the applicant didn't have control of the property, and not everything required was provided in the application. But the applicant said the town made a mistake, and he owns the property and the building is on the property. He claimed all of the documents were submitted.

A hearing officer looked over everything and said that the applicant failed to apply for a retail marijuana business license in the town.

The drawing for the licenses will be held on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
