One person injured in Grand Junction fire

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) - A family is without a home after a fire Wednesday afternoon.

The Grand Junction Fire Department was called just after 12:00 p.m. to the 400 block of Niagara Circle, south of the old K-mart on North Avenue.

Crews said they arrived to find flames coming out of the home.

One person was taken to the hospital, with unknown injuries, according to fire officials. They said one of two dogs rescued died, and two cats are still missing.

It's still unclear what caused the fire.
