GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- One person was hurt after a shooting early Monday morning in downtown Grand Junction.
Around 12:30 a.m., Grand Junction police said they were called to the area of 4th Street and Grand Avenue, for two men that had gotten into an altercation.
Police said a man in a car and a man walking along the street were talking. That's when the man on the street pulled out a can of pepper spray.
Police say the man in the car mistook it as a firearm, drew out a gun and reportedly shot the person on the street. The man who was hurt was taken to the hospital with what police describe as non life-threatening injuries.
There was no immediate word on charges.
