Human remains found in Orchard Mesa, coroner says

ORCHARD MESA, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The Mesa County Coroner's Office said it needs help identifying human remains found in a local neighborhood.

The remains were found on Dec. 20, 2016, in the area of 27 1/4 and B 1/2 roads in Orchard Mesa.

According to the Colorado Mesa University Forensic Investigation Research Station, the remains belong to a man who is believed to be between 30 and 40 years old.

The coroner said he was probably white with some sort of Hispanic heritage, and that his remains had been there for several months.

Officials said the man was found with a chevrolet key ring, a white metal necklace with a cruicifx, a leather boot, and Rock and Republic shorts or pants.
