GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)-- The Mesa County Health Department held a community-wide suicide prevention discussion Tuesday night.
The health department hosted the open forum to talk about strategies, and tools people can use to better understand and identify those who may be suicidal.
The goal was to create a community-wide suicide prevention plan with information from all those affected by suicide, according to the health department.
“We just want to create an opportunity where suicide can be talked about; opening it up, making it a conversation people can have so people can reach out when they need help,” said Sarah Robinson with the Mesa County Health Department.
The health department said nearly 145 people attended the conversation.
