GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Habitat for Humanity donated its 71st home in Mesa County Friday.
Pam Cairns is a librarian for District 51, but now she has another title of homeowner. After putting in at least 32 hours a month to build her home, she says the sweat was worth it to own her new place.
"There are no words to say what an experience this has been. It's been quite a journey and I'm just so thankful to anyone who was ever donated or supported Habitat, and it's incredible. I'm speechless,” said Cairns.
She was able to move into her new home within seven months, Habitat for Humanity says that's so fast that Pam set a record. Habitat plans to donate anywhere from two to five homes in 2018.
