GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) -- The Grand Junction Regional Airport hosted an open house Tuesday to show off its projects that are underway, which includes a new runway.
"That's a $100 plus million project that's going to take as long as 10 years to build," said Angela Padalecki, the airport's executive director.
She says even though the project will be lengthy, it will be worth it.
"When all of a sudden the planes that you've been flying year after year start landing in a different spot and taking off in a different spot, that's big and impactful," she said.
They are also working on the Memorial Park Project, which is the display people see when they drive onto the airport's campus.
Plans are also moving forward to redesign the airport's website.
