GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The Forest Service is looking for a new office space in Grand Junction.
They've been in their current location off Horizon Drive for almost 20 years.
They said they're looking for a place with about 7,000 square feet for offices and another 10,000 square feet to 13,000 square feet of buildings to house government vehicles.
The search isn't new. They put out a bid for existing buildings last year, but they were all too expensive.
"We're moving office locations because our current lease is expiring and our current landlord has plans for the space that we're currently occupying," said District Ranger Bill Edwards. "We're [also] looking to go down to Orchard Mesa because we already have a warehouse."
They hope to move into a new building by late summer or early fall.
The U.S. Forest Service said it wouldn't mean any new full time, year-round jobs.
