FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The community of Fruita was out early Saturday morning, working out, and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
It was Fruita Fitness in Circle Park that drew the people out. It's all to celebrate National Park and Recreation month, an effort to show how parks have the power to transform daily lives.
All of the fitness groups in Fruita teamed up to offer everything from cycling to fitness boot camp.
With Colorado reportedly being one of the fittest states in the nation, people felt it was important to get out and maintain a healthy lifestyle every day.
"There are so many things that our parks provide. They provide fitness and activities for kids, we have fantastic playgrounds. You know, no better parks in the state than in Fruita, Colorado," said Cheri Delaney, the fitness and wellness coordinator for Fruita community center.
Organizers said they wanted to get people active and show the community what options there are for local fitness clubs in Fruita by giving them a taste of everything.
That way people may find an activity they never knew they would love.
