MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KJCT) -- Here's a National Shopping Day you might want to get in line for -- Small Business Saturday.

Local businesses are inviting the Grand Valley to shop small.

The Fruita Chamber of Commerce said more than 20 businesses in Fruita will stock their shelves for the Saturday shopping spree.

A local business owner, Allie Daniel said, buyers should look at shopping local as an investment in your community.

“I find it very important for that reason too. I'll spend a little more money if i know it's being spent here locally and helping somebody else, helping out a friend helping out a neighbor,” said Allie Daniel, the owner of Happy Trails.

The Fruita Chamber said there will be raffles, refreshment and of course great deals on local products from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“We work together with our local businesses, groups, and the community to promote the importance of shopping local. We hope to see everyone out on Saturday supporting all of our awesome small businesses,” said members of the Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce.

Downtown Grand Junction businesses on Main Street are also participating in the shop small movement.
