Third man arrested in fatal trailer park shooting

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) -- A third man has been arrested in relation to the killing of Dion Nixon on March 15 in the James Trailer Park.

Gregory Clark, 39, of Grand Junction, was arrested late Saturday night in the 3200 block of F Road.

Heidi Davidson, with the Grand Junction Police Department, said Clark's arrest warrant is sealed, but he was charged with first degree murder.

Richard Byrd, 48, and Rufus Billups, 41, were arrested on March 16, and also charged with first degree murder, according to police.

Dion Nixon, 38, was shot at his trailer in the 400 block of 28 1/4 Road.

The Mesa County Coroner said the cause of death was gunshot wounds to the abdomen and head and the manner of death was homicide.

Nixon, 38, died from his injuries at St. Mary's Hospital.

A witness on scene, who did not live in the area, said the victim went by the name "Lazy."
