GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) -- The Grand Junction Giving Club gifted $20,100 to the District 51 Foundation on Thursday morning.
It’s the first time the Giving Club has donated to the foundation, and is the club's largest donation to date.
The Giving Club gives a donation to an organization every quarter by randomly drawing it three organizations out of a hat from about 200 nominations than voting on the final recipient. Each member of the club nominates an organization.
The foundation said it plans on using the money to get technology for students and professional development for teachers.
“Our foundation just feels like we have such a need in our school district the over 22,000 students in Mesa County school, one of the ways we can support this through the technology it's so key to their future, " Angela Christensen, the foundation coordinator for the D-51 Foundation.
