Dual Immersion Academy enrollment open for kindergartners

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-- Parents who are interested in enrolling their child in kindergarten at the Dual Immersion Academy or New Emerson School must submit an application by Thursday at 4 pm.

The schools have a lottery system for spots, so not all who apply this week will be accepted. New Emerson School specializes in math, science and technology, while Dual Immersion Academy specializes in language.

“Our kindergarten program is an all-day experience,” said Terry Schmalz, the principal of New Emerson School. “So we're able to spend more time with kindergarteners in all content area."

Applications are available at each school. A letter will be sent to parents if their child was waitlisted or chosen in the lottery to study at either school.
