Job Description:
Candidate must be able to creatively write, shoot and edit professional quality news stories. Primary duties including producing and anchoring the 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. newscasts on Saturday and Sunday. The Weekend Anchor/Reporter will also interview subjects, and produce and edit packages for broadcast as assigned. In addition to packages, this position will deliver live segments on location, as well as provide debriefs/on-set lives in the studio. We have two live trucks and expect our reporters to go live as much as possible. The ideal candidate will also understand that this is a multi-platform industry now, and that website/social media skills are critical to this position and the success of the station.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field. Two years of news reporting, photography and editing experience is preferred; internships are considered valuable experience as well. Candidate must pass a drug test and background check.
