This first exhibit will showcase a developed body of work from each of the following artists: Kalena Castaneda, Julia Ennis, Dennis Friedly, Pavia Justinian, Sandy Tull, and Tawni Urbina. The art on display will include figurative, abstract, and functional works in oil and acrylic, ceramic, print, drawing, and sculpture.
CMU Studio Art majors begin their studies with a strong foundation in design, drawing, art history, and sculpture, and then move on to advanced studio courses in the media of their choice, including ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Upon graduation, students are prepared to pursue a career as a professional artist or to pursue graduate studies in art. In addition to the BFA in Studio Art, the department offers BFA’s in Art History, Art Education, Graphic Design-Print, and Graphic Design-Animation.
There will be a public reception to view the exhibit and meet the artists on Friday, March 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Art Gallery is located in the University Center at Colorado Mesa University, Grand Junction, CO.
