Wondering what to do on school closure days? Come have fun with us on January 7th at the Botanical Gardens exploring nature and experiencing the joy of art. While your children are discovering and creating fun works of art, parents can learn the fundamental principles of putting pencil to paper by developing a basic pencil-line technique. Children will explore the tropical garden rooms and nature trail and then create forms by doing origami. The art class for children will be followed by "Music Together".
Adult classes will cover how to establish shape, form, depth, dimension, proportions and perspective. These basic techniques will be emphasized so that you will learn how to draw live plants in a way that will surprise and delight you.
Subsequent classes in nature related art will be offered February 1st, March 8th, and May 3rd. Classes are from 10am to 12:30pm at the Botanical Gardens, South 7th and Riverside Parkway. Cost is $15 per session/per person. Pre-registration is required. Registration deadline for the January 7th class is January 4th. To register and to get the supply list for the adult classes, call (970)245-9030 or email info@wcbotanic.org
