GRAND JUNCTION (KJCT)- Our economy on the Western Slope is still looking better than the rest of state and a lot of the country. Local experts say that's helped keep foreclosure rates low.
James Pulsipher,Vice President of Fidelity Mortgage, said Mesa County and Summit County historically have the lowest incident rates of foreclosures in Colorado.
He said our economy has grown at the same rate as real estate, and foreclosures tend to hit areas where the economy is lagging behind the values of real estate.
"Now is a good time for an intelligent buyer. For somebody who can do their homework. There's a lot of good opportunities in the marketplace and good value for people's investments," Pulsipher said.
He says if you're starting to have difficulties making your house payment-- take action immediately.
If you start looking for help before you're in trouble, you may be able to save your home.
