Only 1 in 5 9th graders from Colorado graduate from college. This problem is known as the Colorado paradox, but a new statewide effort could eliminate this.
It's collegeincolorado.org, and it's a one stop resource to help colorado families plan, apply and pay for college.
Members were in Grand Junction trying to get kids exited about college.
To eliminate the Colorado Paradox, this website specializes in breaking down barriers for all Colorado students.
Services on coloradocollege.org are all free and include student-classroom training, counselor and teacher website training, motivational presentations for students, and a pre-collegiate program.
The College in Colorado team is hoping this campaign will encourage more colorado students to graduate from college.
Executive Director Dawn Owens said, "It truly is the most comprehensive career and academic planning tool in the country. Kids can get on and explore careers in any field, look for information on financial aid, look for information on requirements they need classes they need in order to fulfill the higher education mission requirements."
