CLIFTON, Colo. (KJCT) -- One nation-wide group is hoping you can help give children around the world hope.
The Non-Profit group 'Samaritan's Purse' is employing hundreds of volunteers to help during this next week.
They're collecting shoe boxes full of goods for children living in war-torn areas from Panama to the Middle East.
The boxes are for boys and girls and a variety of age groups.
Monday the drive kicked off at 8:00 a.m. And by Noon, the group had collect more than a tenth of what their goal is this year.
"So far [Monday] morning... we have 1,100 shoe boxes, just here locally. So by the time all the boxes feed into here next Monday, we're hoping to have 10,000 shoe boxes."
The drive for Clifton lasts until Monday, November 23rd at 6:00 p.m. It ends Sunday, November 22nd at every other location.
Drop off locations are across the western slope. Delta, Montrose, Clifton, Rifle, Craig, Carbondale, Steamboat Springs, and Vail all have relay centers.
Organizers hope to fill three trucks full of boxes.
If you want to donate but don't know what to get, stop by the Clifton Christian Church to find out how to give: http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=7485573313890794015&q=Clifton+Christian+church&hl=en&cd=1&cad=src:pplink&ei=iP4BS6OuJpPQswPqoqj8Cw.
