Posted: Updated:

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) -- Police were called to the offices of A & J Flow Testing Friday after several unpaid workers said they were promised a meeting with the owner and possible money.

KJCT told you this week, we've been talking to employees and the owner, Jim Carlson. Nearly 80 employees of the oil and gas contractor were dealing with hardships.

Carlson says Encana Oil and Gas, who cut ties with the company, has paid some of the invoices.

Many of the employees were paid. but this morning, between 8 and 10 workers gathered outside the Grand Junction office, told they could speak to the owner and possibly get money.

That was between 9 and 10... several hours later, the owner hadn't shown... and a secretary called the police. Calls to the owner went to a full voice mail box today.
