Local food banks need supplies

Posted: Updated:

GRAND JUNCTION (KJCT)- The holiday season is rapidly approaching and local charities say they need your help more than ever.

Clifton Community Church says the number of people asking for help with groceries has grown significantly in the past year.

At the same time, they say the amount of donations are plateauing as more people find themselves unemployed.

With fewer people able to make donations, the church is finding it harder to keep up with demand.

They say they are used to serving the Grand Junction and Clifton areas, but now, they're seeing people come from Delta and Mack for food.

Clifton Community Church is asking folks to remember the needy when you visit the grocery store.

They say a great way to help out is to buy sale items when you see them.

The food bank always needs canned food like soup and vegetables.

To donate, go to Clifton Christian Church located at 615 I-70 Business Loop, Clifton, CO.
