GRAND JUNCTION (KJCT)- Entrepreneurs and small business owners are continuing to find innovative ways to keep business moving despite the economy.

About 500 business-minded people from across the state spent Friday swapping ideas at the 2009 Colorado entrepreneurship marketplace in Grand Junction.

People we talked to say entrepreneurship is the backbone of the American economy and keeps our towns and cities thriving in Colorado. They say there are still opportunities out there in this economy.

"It's just that we need to identify what goods and services we have as an individual to find an outreach program for. If we make ourselves healthy internally, externally we'll make it better," said Deborah Butler with Rocky Ford Colorado.

"Identifying what those needs are, finding new, better, stronger ways to serve the needs that are still out their in our community," said Deborah Hood with Communications Specialties.

Business owners say now more than ever, it's important to get better at everything you do.
