GRAND JUNCTION (KJCT)--An accident yesterday afternoon sent a Grand Junction woman and her S.U.V. crashing through her garage and into her neighbor's backyard. Fortunately no one was injured and police say no tickets will be issued. But the situation raised a challenging question...how to get the Jeep Grand Cherokee out of the backyard, without causing more damage.
The car owner decided to hire a crane to lift the car up and over her neighbor's house. This action drew a lot of attention from area neighbors. The process took a little over an hour.
The home, where the S.U.V. came to rest, has no structural damage, according to the home owner. A freezer from the drivers' garage stopped the Jeep from driving through their neighbor's house.
The crane operator estimates the cost to remove the car and the deep freezer will be between 3 and 4 thousand dollars.
