Grand Junction Fire crews responded to the Mesa State Library just before 11 Sunday morning on reports of smoke.
When crews arrived they found what appeared to have been a small fire in a generator in the north part of the building. The sprinkler system was also activated and discharged water. It's not known the extent of damage to the library.
The fire comes just a day before finals week at Mesa State College.
