For the second year, the Colorado Mesa University Art Gallery presents 4x6/6x4, an exhibit of postcard-sized artwork received from Colorado, the U.S., and the world in response to a call for entries. The exhibit is a Legacy Campaign Event in which every work is for sale at the set price of $20, with all proceeds going to the Art Department Endowment. The permanent endowment exists to support a variety of Art Department programs, including visiting artists, exhibitions, equipment purchases, and other events or items that directly support student education.
The 4x6 or 6x4 works come from many U.S. states; from countries as diverse as Japan, Australia, Poland, and Turkey; and are in varied media including acrylics, oils, collage, fibers, pencil, ink, and block and intaglio prints.
This year the Art Department will make available for purchase a catalog containing all participants’ artwork; a link to the publication will be posted at the 4x6/6x4 Postcard Exhibit site after February 18:
Artwork sales will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22 and will continue through the duration of the exhibit. A public reception will take place on Friday, February 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Art Gallery is located in the University Center at Colorado Mesa University, Grand Junction, CO.
