FIRE WEATHER WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT, WATCH FOR MONDAY
A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF WESTERN COLORADO UNTIL MIDNIGHT SUNDAY NIGHT.
A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THE FOLLOWING WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL LEAD TO EXPLOSIVE FIRE GROWTH FROM THE SMALLEST IGNITION SOURCE:
* WINDS...SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH
REDEVELOPING SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...7 TO 12 PERCENT.
* THUNDERSTORMS...ISOLATED TO SCATTERED DRY THUNDERSTORMS SUNDAY
AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH AN LAL OF 6.
* OUTFLOW WINDS...STRONG AND ERRATIC OUTFLOW WIND GUSTS TO 40
MPH POSSIBLE SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
* IMPACTS...ANY FIRE IGNITIONS MAY BECOME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL
WITH VERY HIGH RATES OF SPREAD POSSIBLE INTO THE EARLY EVENING
HOURS TODAY AND SATURDAY.
A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW...OR WILL SHORTLY. A COMBINATION OF
STRONG WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND WARM TEMPERATURES WILL
CREATE EXPLOSIVE FIRE GROWTH POTENTIAL.
PLEASE ADVISE THE APPROPRIATE OFFICIALS AND AFFECTED FIELD
PERSONNEL OF THIS RED FLAG WARNING.
A FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10AM TO MIDNIGHT MONDAY NIGHT. THE WATCH WILL LIKELY BE UPGRADED TO A WARNING AT SOME POINT SUNDAY AFTERNOON OR EVENING.
