Job Description: KJCT News 8 has an opening for a Main Evening Anchor in Grand Junction, Colorado. We are looking for a talented, career-driven professional who is seeking a Main Evening Anchor position. We are a fast-paced newsroom with top of the line editing software, high-tech camera equipment, and a brand new state-of-the art set. Just within the past few years, we have had several talented individuals jump right from this market into important on-air positions in major markets, such as Denver. The ideal candidate will be able to connect with our local viewers during live newscasts at 5pm, 6pm, and 10pm. Candidates should be able to report the news of the hour clearly and comfortably. The candidate will have the ability to write effective broadcast copy, as well as promo and tease material. The ability to edit video, factually re-write copy, conduct interviews, interact well with co-anchors and other personnel, and meet all deadlines and work schedules, are also essential to this position. Flexible schedule and public appearances required.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent is required. 2 years of Television Broadcasting experience is preferred. Candidate must pass a drug test and background check. A valid driver’s license is required..
