Job Description: KJCT News 8 has an opening for an Anchor in Grand Junction, Colorado. KJCT News 8 is in a competitive, visible market on the Western Slope of Colorado. This is the ideal opportunity for the individual seeking to refine their skills as anchor before moving on to a larger market.
The ideal candidate will be able to connect with our local viewers during live news casts and be able to report the news of the hour clearly and comfortably. The candidate will have the ability to write effective broadcast copy, as well as promo and tease material. The ability to edit video, factually re-write copy, conduct interviews, interact well with co-anchors and other personnel, and meet all deadlines and work schedules, are also essential to this position. Flexible schedule and public appearances required.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent is required. 2 years of Television Broadcasting experience is preferred. Candidate must pass a drug test and background check. A valid driver’s license is required.
