Angel Tree program helps kids have presents for Christmas

Christmas for most of us is guaranteed, but for some, especially kids, it isn't always a sure thing. Betty Chanz is pretty busy this time of year. She's organized Christmas presents for about 375 kids over the last five years.

The Mesa County Sheriff Posse has been collecting food and other items for the Salvation Army. Each weekend starting around Thanksgiving, they post up with a trailer outside of different City Markets in the Grand Valley in hopes to fill it for those in need.

A tradition is back in action for the holiday season and it's perfect for the whole family. It's the 29th annual train show put on by the Grand Valley Model Railroad Club.

According to WIS-TV in Charleston, South Carolina the lights many saw Saturday night above Denver, Grand Junction and other areas, was a large formation of C-17 military cargo planes.
